Business Central implementation across Europe

Synapserve plans and delivers Business Central implementation in Europe for companies running entities in several countries. We work with Microsoft's country localisations, prepare you for e-invoicing mandates such as Belgium's and Germany's, and design multi-currency, multi-language setups that local teams can use.

What's different about Europe

GDPR

GDPR applies to the customer, supplier and employee data you hold in Business Central. Because our team works from India, which does not have an EU adequacy decision, we work under Standard Contractual Clauses, use named accounts with role-based access and avoid copying personal data outside your environment.

Peppol and Belgium's B2B mandate

Belgium has required structured B2B e-invoicing between Belgian VAT-registered businesses since 1 January 2026, with Peppol as the default network. Business Central supports the Peppol BIS 3.0 format and has an e-documents framework; sending and receiving over Peppol needs an access point, connected through a connector app or service provider.

Germany's B2B e-invoicing

Since 1 January 2025, businesses in Germany must be able to receive structured e-invoices in formats such as XRechnung and ZUGFeRD. The obligation to issue them phases in during 2027 and 2028. Microsoft's German localisation supports these formats in current versions; we confirm what your version covers and plan any gaps.

VAT in the Digital Age (ViDA)

The EU's ViDA package, adopted in 2025, makes structured e-invoicing the default and introduces digital reporting for intra-EU B2B transactions from July 2030, while letting member states introduce domestic mandates sooner. We design invoicing processes that can move to structured formats without rework.

Multi-country, multi-currency and multi-language

Microsoft provides its own localisations for countries including the Netherlands, Germany, Belgium, Denmark, Sweden, Norway and Finland, covering local VAT reporting and statutory requirements such as Norway's SAF-T. We plan environments per localisation, set up currencies and consolidation, and give each team the interface language it works in.

Questions we're often asked

What does Business Central implementation in Europe involve for a multi-country group?

A shared design for the chart of accounts, dimensions and core processes, then a localisation layer per country for VAT, statutory reporting and e-invoicing. Each country is usually its own environment on Microsoft's localisation for that country, with consolidation bringing results together.

Is Business Central ready for Germany's e-invoicing rules?

Microsoft's German localisation supports XRechnung and ZUGFeRD in current versions. Receiving is already required, and issuing phases in during 2027 and 2028, so we check your version, your incoming invoice process and any connector you need.

How does Business Central send invoices over Peppol?

Business Central can produce Peppol BIS 3.0 documents through its e-documents framework. Delivery over the Peppol network goes through a certified access point, which is connected by a connector app or a service provider. We help you pick one and set it up.

What is ViDA and when does it affect us?

VAT in the Digital Age is an EU package adopted in 2025. Its main ERP impact is structured e-invoicing and digital reporting for intra-EU B2B sales from July 2030, but member states can bring in domestic mandates earlier, so the timing depends on where you trade.

Can each country use Business Central in its own language?

Yes. Users choose their interface language, and Microsoft's localised versions include the local language. Document layouts such as invoices can be printed in the customer's language.
