Business Central partner in India for growing companies

Synapserve is a Business Central partner in India, and our delivery team works here too. We set up Microsoft's India localisation for GST, TDS and TCS, connect e-invoicing and e-way bills, and move finance teams off Tally without losing the history they rely on.

What's different about India

GST, TDS and TCS

Business Central has a Microsoft India localisation that covers GST (registration numbers, place of supply, input credit, reverse charge and GST settlement), TDS on payments and TCS on sales. We configure GST groups, HSN and SAC codes and TDS sections for each registration, then test them against your real transaction types before go-live.

E-invoicing and e-way bills

Businesses above the notified turnover threshold must report B2B invoices to the Invoice Registration Portal to obtain an IRN and signed QR code, and most movements of goods need an e-way bill. Business Central's India localisation can prepare the invoice data; a direct, automatic connection to the government portals is usually made through a GST Suvidha Provider or a partner app, which we help you choose and integrate.

Moving off Tally

Many companies outgrow Tally once they add entities, warehouses, approval workflows or more users. We map ledgers, groups, stock items and parties to Business Central, bring across opening balances and open items, and plan a parallel run so your team can compare results before switching off the old books.

Multi-state GST registrations

Companies registered in several states need a GSTIN per state, location-wise number series and stock transfers that carry the right tax treatment between registrations. We design locations, number series and posting setups so that each registration's returns stay clean and easy to reconcile.

DPDP Act 2023

The Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 sets duties for organisations that process personal data of people in India, with obligations under its rules phasing in over time. We help you restrict who can see customer and employee data in Business Central, confirm where your environment is hosted and set retention practices. Legal interpretation stays with your advisers.

Questions we're often asked

What does a Business Central partner in India do for us?

We plan and run the implementation: scoping, configuring the India localisation for GST, TDS and TCS, migrating data from Tally or another system, building any extensions, testing with your team, training users and supporting you through go-live and the first few month-end closes.

Does Business Central handle GST e-invoicing out of the box?

Microsoft's India localisation covers GST calculation and can prepare e-invoice data. To send invoices to the Invoice Registration Portal and receive the IRN and QR code automatically, most companies use a GST Suvidha Provider or a partner app. We help you choose one and integrate it.

Can Business Central manage several GSTINs in one company?

Yes. GST registration numbers are assigned to locations, so one Business Central company can hold registrations for several states. Stock transfers between registrations are set up to carry the correct tax treatment.

How long does a move from Tally to Business Central take?

It depends on how many companies and registrations you have, how much history you want to bring across, how clean your Tally masters are and how much custom process work is involved. We give you a plan with dates after a short discovery, rather than a figure before we have seen your data.

How do you approach the DPDP Act in an ERP project?

We treat it as a design input. That means role-based access to personal data, keeping only the fields you need, agreeing retention practices and documenting who can see what. Your legal advisers decide how the Act applies to you; we make sure the system supports their decisions.
