Integration and automation

Business systems integration services built for the day something fails

Synapserve provides business systems integration services that connect your ERP to your e-commerce store, CRM, banks, payroll and logistics providers. We build with APIs, Workato recipes, Power Automate, Azure Logic Apps and middleware, and we design every integration with logging, retries and alerts so problems are caught by us, not by your customers.

The problems we're brought in to fix

People re-keying data between systems

Web orders typed into the ERP, invoices copied into the CRM, stock levels updated by hand on the store. Every manual step adds delay and errors, and the work grows with every new channel or customer.

Integrations that fail silently

A nightly file transfer or script built years ago by someone who has since left. When it stops, nobody is told: no logs, no retries, no alerts. The first sign is a customer chasing an order or a stock figure that cannot be right.

Point-to-point connections nobody owns

Every system wired directly to every other, so changing one breaks three. Good business systems integration services start by deciding which system owns each record, then replace the tangle with a design someone can support.

Banking, payroll and shipping run on file uploads

Payment files exported and uploaded by hand, bank statements matched line by line, payroll journals keyed in after every run and tracking numbers copied from carrier portals. Each upload is a chance to post the wrong file twice.

What we deliver

Integration map and design

An inventory of your systems and data flows, the system of record for customers, items, prices, stock and orders, the trigger, frequency and volume of each flow, and an error-handling strategy agreed before any build starts.

API integrations

Integrations over REST, OData and SOAP, including Business Central's standard APIs and custom API pages, webhooks for event-driven updates and secure authentication using OAuth 2.0 and Microsoft Entra ID app registrations.

Workato recipes and Power Automate flows

Workato recipes for cross-platform automation and Power Automate flows where your processes live in Microsoft 365 and Dataverse. We choose the platform by fit and build reusable components so new flows follow the same patterns.

Azure Logic Apps and middleware

Azure Logic Apps, Azure Functions and Service Bus queues for high-volume, ordered or long-running integrations, with API Management where several systems need a controlled, documented interface.

ERP connections to the systems around it

Orders, refunds, stock and prices between ERP and e-commerce; customers and orders with CRM; bank statement import and payment files in the formats your bank accepts; payroll journal posting; and shipments, labels and tracking with carriers and third-party warehouses.

Monitoring, alerts and runbooks

Central logging, automatic retries, safe handling of duplicates, alerts to a named owner when something needs attention, reconciliation reports that compare record counts and totals across systems, and a runbook for your team or ours.

How a project runs

Every step has an owner on your side and on ours, and nothing moves forward without your sign-off.

  1. Audit current flows

We trace how data moves today, including the manual steps and spreadsheets, and record where errors and delays come from. This often reveals that a few flows cause most of the pain.

  2. Design the target integration

Field mappings, a cross-reference strategy for IDs across systems, the choice of real-time or scheduled processing for each flow, the platform to build on, and how failures will be detected and recovered.

  3. Build and test against real conditions

We build against sandbox systems and test the awkward cases as well as the happy path: duplicate webhooks, API rate limits, partial failures, timeouts and realistic data volumes.

  4. Parallel run and cut-over

The new integration runs alongside the old process while we compare outputs. Once results match, we switch over in a planned window and retire the old scripts and manual steps.

  5. Operate and improve

We monitor the integrations, review failures and volumes regularly and update flows when a connected system changes its API version or your process changes.

Ways to work with us

Integration project

A defined set of integrations designed, built, tested and handed over, such as connecting Business Central to your online store, bank and carrier.

Platform migration and consolidation

Moving fragile scripts, file transfers and point-to-point connections onto a supported platform such as Workato, Power Automate or Azure Logic Apps, with monitoring added along the way.

Managed integration support

Ongoing monitoring, incident handling and change requests for your integrations, run by engineers who know how each flow was built.

Questions we're often asked

Should we use Workato, Power Automate or Azure Logic Apps?

It depends on your systems, volumes and team. Power Automate suits processes centred on Microsoft 365 and Dataverse, Workato suits automation across many SaaS applications, and Azure Logic Apps with Azure Functions suits high-volume or complex integrations that need full engineering control. We recommend after the audit, not before.

How do you scope business systems integration services?

We start with an audit of your current flows, then propose a design and a scoped plan covering each integration, the platform, testing and support. You see what is being built and why before any build work is agreed.

Can you connect Business Central to Shopify?

Yes. Business Central includes Microsoft's Shopify connector, which we configure where it fits your process. When you need more, such as multiple stores, marketplace channels or custom fulfilment logic, we extend it or build a dedicated integration.

What happens when an integration fails?

Failed messages are logged and retried automatically where it is safe to do so. If a retry cannot fix the problem, an alert goes to a named owner with the record and the error, and the runbook explains how to correct and resend it without creating duplicates.

Can you work with the middleware we already have?

Yes. We often extend or stabilise existing integration platforms rather than replace them. If a platform is costing more effort than it saves, we will say so and show you the alternative.

Who owns the integrations once they are built?

You do. Recipes, flows and code are built in your own tenants and accounts, with documentation, so you can support them yourselves, use us or bring in another provider.
